Amongst the flowers
There is a single satin rose,
Which will outlast,
Unscented its colours will fade
But the petals, bleached
By sunlight, clouded by dust
Will always remain
In summer she shall linger
As its image refines a memory
Brings back the laughter
The blue sky, the white clouds
The days without rain
But in winter, when she passes
It will be in sorrow
She will close her eyes
And touch away tears
That spill uncontrolled
As a red rose reminds her
She’ll look away
