Hush, hush, the skylark sings again
Scattering his song across the sky
We turn our heads in vain
Seeking out his route, we fly
Sunlight, the backdrop to our vision,
We tip our heads, really listen
Gazing out across the cloudless sky
Breathing in the fresh scent of spring
We cast our gaze to passers-by
We call out names, make echoes ring
When, suddenly, we finally spot
In the distance a dashing dot
A flurry of wings that doesn’t stop
The song we heard, begins once more
As we run, race to the top, drop
To our knees, tumble on the floor
Our laughter rings out loud and clear
Winter’s gone and summer’s nearly here
